Reduce Stress ProgramMind Body Performance Management provides on site training sessions in meditation and mind wellness for business, medical and law enforcement professionals.

Every action that we send out to the world and every reaction that comes back, is filtered through our state of mind. Having a mind that is open, calm and focused is essential for peak mind/body performance. It is essential at work for professional performance and at home for personal relationships. When our mind is subjected to stress, anger and anxiety, our ability to perform suffers.

The Mind Body Performance Program is specifically designed to address this issue. It consists of nine classes each an hour long. It is an innovative blend of mind training techniques taken from disciplines from around the world. These techniques have been selected because they are simple, efficient and effective. Training is provided in yogic breathing, focused meditation and deep, guided kundalini connection.

This program is built on learning by doing. There are no required readings. There are no tests. There is no physical contact. Students who follow this program with a five minute daily routine, will find that it’s benefits are self sustaining.

This program will address the foundational center of the following issues:

Brain Scan Mind Focus

  • stress
  • anxiety
  • isolation/emotional detachment
  • depression
  • fatigue/sleep disorders
  • eating disorders
  • professional burnout/PTSD

Students who maintain a daily practice will commonly notice the following benefits:

  • reduced stress
  • reduced anxiety
  • relief from persistent emotional pain
  • relief from professional burnout/PTSD
  • improved stategic/creative thinking
  • enhanced awareness and appreciation
  • improved personal/professional relationships
Q/A The Mind Body Performance Program

Objective: getting the mind in shape

Q – Is it really necessary?
A – Most of our daily interactions take place on a very shallow level. This is typically where we relate to the world around us. When the world relates back to us in an irritating way, even if it’s something minor, it feels significant. The reason it feels significant is because our baseline for comparison is so shallow. The simplest solution is to look for a deeper baseline. When we find it, those accumulated irritations reveal themselves as being unimportant. In the presence of that deeper baseline, they are effectively zeroed out.

Professionally, this liberates us to work more efficiently, to make better strategic decisions and
better long term plans. Personally, friends and family will notice the difference and will appreciate the change.

Q – What happens if we don’t maintain a healthy mind?
A – Stress kills. If we ignore the accumulated stress, anger, pain and anxiety, we will pay the price.

Q – How is this program different from any other?
A – We use a three part program. First is yogic breathing, which is the gateway to meditation. Second is a focused meditation. This calms and prepares the mind. Third is the guided kundalini connection. This is where the deeper baseline is experienced. Typically, it would take years of daily practice to experience this level of deep calm energy. With this program, the instructor will guide the students to that place, in the first session.

Q – What is the kundalini connection?
A – The kundalini connection is a form of deep therapeutic nonverbal communication between a teacher and a student. The teacher engages their own deep baseline, then invites the student to share the experience. Through the process of sharing, the student becomes familiar with the baseline, where it is and how to get there. This is learning by doing. The experience lasts about 25 minutes.

Q – Is a teacher always necessary or can a student go to the deep baseline on their own?
A – The teacher is a guide. Their job is to show you the way the first time. The student is then encouraged to practice finding their way on their own, with a daily five minute meditation. At first, the path may be difficult, but with practice, it quickly becomes worn smooth and can be travelled easily.

Q- How deep can we go?
A – There are nine levels in this program, but like free diving in the ocean, some of us will always want to go deeper. Lisa continues to explore new levels.

Content of a One Hour Session

1. Introduction: A brief ten minute description of the session.

2. Yogic Breathing: A three minute breathing exercise that is the doorway to meditation.

3. Meditation: A five minute practice meditation to calm and prepare the mind.

4. Kundalini Reiki ConnectionThis is the 25 minute deep guided connection. During this time, as the students are resting in meditation, the instructor will ask permission from them to accept the connection. After the silent response, the instructor will begin the connection, engaging their own deep level of calm energy. When they have reached that place, typically in two to three minutes, the instructor will invite the students to share the experience. This is the non verbal communication. This is where the learning takes place.

During the session, students will often feel a warmth or tingling, especially in their hands. This is the connection. They may feel a release of emotions. This is just clearing out the old, accumulated baggage. They may notice that their breathing slows, a lot. This is the experience of deep calm. During some sessions, students may feel that they are looking out into space, clearly seeing with their eyes. After the session, the instructor might describe what they saw, and students will often confirm that they saw the same thing. This is simply because they were sharing the same experience. This is the efficiency and power of a deep, guided meditative connection. For further explanation, see the Science page.

5. Reflection: Sessions can sometimes be intense. Afterwards, a period of five to ten minutes to absorb and reflect on the experience is useful.

6. Practice: This is the homework. Each student is encouraged to do a five minute focused meditation. This meditation will provide positive reinforcement for the work done in the session. During this meditation, the student will revisit the place of deep calm that they experienced during the session. Daily practice will produce the best results. On the Book/Audio page, there is a link to download a free five minute audio Mp3. There is nothing magical about this audio piece, but many students find it useful in developing a daily routine of self maintenance and mind discipline.

Lisa Okochi

Lisa Okochi has devoted her life to teaching, training and helping people to achieve and then maintain a healthy mind and body. By following this family profession, she continues 16 generations of samurai warlords, Buddhist priests and traditional healers..

This path was taken at a relatively young age, not out of desire, but out of necessity.

Years of debilitating asthma and the prescription pills shaped her early life. By sixteen, she had been in various hospitals 15 times, taking nearly 40 pills every day.

Despite the serious side effects, including the loss of sight in her left eye, the doctors continued to increase her medication. Her condition worsened. It was her mother, a traditional healer, who asked if she would consider trying another way. The decision was made and, despite the warnings, Lisa left the hospitals, discarded the drugs and made a promise to find her own way to health.

It was the asthma, that became the doorway to her improved health. Through conscious and daily attention to control her breathing, progress was made. Meditation supported this process and proved useful in avoiding the stressful conditions that could trigger an attack. Yoga conditioned and strengthened her body, providing such simple rewards as a good night’s sleep and the feeling that she was finally, really alive.

In better health, she enrolled at the International Christian University in Tokyo where she earned a BA in Intercultural Communication. For ten years, she continued her training at the Tokyo Yoga Center with founder Ken Hakakuma. That work was combined with four years of meditation training at Zenkoji Monastery and the Takaozan Temple. In New York, she trained at the Swedish Institute College of Health Sciences. With this preparation, she was accepted by Ole Gabrielsen, the founder of kundalini reiki, for training in energy management. With the approval of Ole, she continues to direct teaching and attunement in the USA.

She has been in private practice since 2005, teaching her students meditation, yoga and mind/body science. She is the Director of Mind Body Performance Management.
